I work with 100% silk and have been making scarves for the last number of years. A lot of what I do involves using salts of different kinds to move the silk paint colour around on the stretched silk. As silk is a natural fibre the results you get from this technique are amazing. Using the salt technique it is impossible to make scarves the same so each scarf is unique.
A hand painted silk scarf is a stylish addition to any outfit. Most of my ideas come from my garden. I’m a lover of poppies, pansies, sunflowers and butterflies most of which are hand drawn.
